Itinerary:
We start a street food walking tour with an insight into traditional Vietnamese food at different eateries. Well, the first stop is near the Cathedral to savour cakes called “Pillow Cake” duo to the same Pillow shape. Then, We taste one of the most famous Vietnamese foods is Chicken Noodle Soup at the specialized chicken soup restaurant. Remember, keep stomach because many things waiting us.

Finish the soup, along the road, we introduce and tell about history of the Old Quarter and Hanoi as well while We’re wandering on the winding old streets and quiet residential lanes where you can observe locals’ daily life, their daily work.

The next stop is a shop for light dessert before coming to the largest market in Hanoi – Dong Xuan Market. If it still opens (7:00 a.m-6:00 p.m), we can go into to watch hundreds of stall with various commodity, we can easily buy them as a souvenir.

Another tourist attraction to visit is Quan Chuong Gate – an architectural work and a cultural, historical and geographical vestige of Hanoi. This gate has been one of the twenty-one city gates of Hanoi since 1749. Keep going this road, we’ll stop at a small food stall where every afternoon a local has been serving traditional food a long time. Specially, all food made from glutinous rice is variety of kinds. An opportunity to find out more about traditional Vietnamese foods.

We’ll reach to the traditional house at 87 Ma May street is typical of the traditional architecture in the Old Quarter. It was recognized as Vietnamese National Heritage in 2004. When we leave the old house, we continue to enjoy food. One of the traditional Vietnamese Food you can’t miss is Spring rolls. Why do fried spring rolls always appear on holidays in Vietnam? Let’s find out by savouring their flavour and listen to the relating stories. Enjoy local beer (draught beer) with Potato chips at the “international” corner Ta Hien where each night, hundreds of travellers and a large number of locals flock here to hang out. Speicially, all seats just need small plastic stools, drink beer and observe relax the local daily life follow the characteristic way at the Old Quarter.

The guide will then take you to one of Hanoi’s best kept secrets, a dark narrow alley leading to the cafe. It may be difficult to find for visitors, but it is well worth the effort. It makes you feel like mystery. You’ll be so surprised until you savour the Egg-Coffee which is absolutely delicious and has the unique taste among Vietnamese coffee.

At the end of the Hanoi street food tour, Hoan Kiem lake is a usual site to finish the tour. Before saying goodbye, the guide’ll tell a legend story referring to this lake. Then, you can either continue exploring on your own, take a taxi or ask the guide’s assistance for directions to get back the hotel and suggestions anything.
