For a day trip, many tourists select the Perfume Pagoda, interesting, but definitely not as much as the Halong Bay -on-Land of Tam Coc. There is a better place and unknown by tourists since no travel agency offers it in its programs, Thay Pagoda and Ba vi National Park.
60 km from Hanoi, a enormous massif culminating at 1276 m, the Ba Vi (3 summits) dominate the Delta. It is an ancient French Summer retreat from the heat and humidity of the delta.
Thay Pagoda, one of the famous attractions in the vicinity of Hanoi, is also known as Thien Phuc Pagoda and is dedicated to the worship Sakyamuni Buddha and 18 Arhats. The pagoda is on the side of a mountain, surrounded by trees.
7:30 AM. Meet up at your hotel. After a short brief information about the traffic and how to ride the bike in Hanoi, we leave the busy city behind and dirve through the immediate country side and visit a local Buddhist pagoda – Thay Pagoda.
Upon reaching the Ba Vi park area (~ 2 hrs), we will unload the bikes and go for a leisurely cycle near the beautiful Dong Mo Lake area. For those who wish to challenge themselves, this is merely a warm-up for the 13 km up-hill to the Ba Vi peak. Whether we reach the summit by bike or car, when we arrive, we will go on a short nature trek (30 minutes) to a tall Buddhist pagoda and a Ho Chi Minh monument.
Finish the day with a long, fun-filled decent down Ba Vi. Back to Hanoi around 6:00 PM.
